Parent’s Responsiblities

 
  • Have students at lessons, group lessons, performance classes and recitals on time and make sure they have all necessary materials.
  • Read the weekly assignment sheet, assist students with practice at home, and oversee completion of weekly theory assignments.
  • Review points received with the student weekly and sign the lesson sheet.
  • Make sure students trim fingernails and wash hands before coming to lessons. (piano)
  • Make sure students attend at least 2 performance classes per recital.
  • Support students by attending recitals and taking them to other live piano performances. 
  • Expose them to classical music at home.
  • Be on time with all payments.
  • Keep piano tuned (at least once a year) and in good working order.
  • Make sure the student has a working metronome.
  • Provide students with a bag for transporting materials to and from lessons.
