Tuition includes: all private lessons (32 from September-August- see below about summer lessons), group lessons, performance classes and rehearsals (14-16), recital fees, studio and home access to Piano Maestro and other studio subscriptions, and all music and materials. The payment is the same each month regardless of the number of lessons in the month (the monthly amount is based on the total cost for the year divided by 12). Tuition does not include outside events such as Federation, AIM, NATS, and competitions. Accompanist fees for voice students are also not included in the tuition. These will be added to your monthly tuition as necessary. Piano students may also be charged a fee in the event that I hire outside musicians (such as percussionists) to play in our ensemble recital. Masterclasses with other teachers are offered occasionally, and will have an extra fee.
Payment for the month is due by the first lesson of the month, unless other arrangements are made. If payment is not received by the 10th of the month, a $20.00 late fee per student will be charged. You will receive an invoice by email at the end of each month stating the amount that is owed for the following month.
Payment is accepted in the form of credit or debit cards, cash or checks. Credit and debit cards are processed securely through Square. Payment can also be made through Venmo, paypal, apple cash or square cash app. Please talk to me if you would like to set up automatic payments.
Students can begin with either 45-minute or 60-minute lessons. After a student has been studying for 1 year, they will need to move to a 60-minute lesson. LPM graduates will need to start with a 60-minute lesson. 75-minute lessons are also available for more advanced students, and may be recommended after 5+ years of study. 15 minutes of the lesson will be "extended lesson time" where the student will work on the ipad, laptop or digital piano. They will work on music theory, ear training, and sight reading during this time.
Because tuition is calculated based on a full year of lessons (September- August), if lessons are terminated before the end of the contracted year (September-August), the balance due for services received up to the time of termination of lessons will be calculated, and you will receive an invoice for that amount.
Summer Lessons
Students are expected to continue lessons through the summer months (June-August), but the summer is more flexible to allow for busy schedules. The tuition payment will remain the same through these months. 4 of the 32 lessons for the year are allotted for the months of June-August. They will be scheduled as convenient for the student and teacher.
If a student chooses not to continue with lessons through the summer, unfortunately, I cannot guarantee a spot for them in the fall schedule.
