Kim Fairbourn is an adjunct professor of voice at Westminster University and Weber State University. She has maintained a successful private piano and voice studio since 1994, where she enjoys helping students of all ages develop strong musicianship, healthy vocal and piano technique, and the confidence to share their talents through performance.

Kim holds a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Utah and a Bachelor of Music/Liberal Arts degree with a choral and vocal emphasis from Weber State University. She is also a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) in Piano through the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).

Her students regularly participate in National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC) festivals, the Achievement in Music (AIM) program, National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) auditions, and a variety of competitions, performances, recitals, and musical productions. She believes that every student benefits from opportunities to perform and strives to create a positive, encouraging environment where musicians can grow in both skill and confidence.

Kim is an active member of the National Federation of Music Clubs, the Music Teachers National Association, the Utah Music Teachers Association, and the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). She has served as President of the Sandy Chapter of the Utah Music Teachers Association and currently serves as its Chair of Communications. She also serves as Chairman of the Sandy Chapter of the Utah Federation of Music Clubs and Treasurer of the Northern Utah Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.

An active performer, Kim has sung with the Salt Lake Vocal Artists, touring internationally and appearing as a featured soloist. Most recently, she performed the role of Ma Moss in Aaron Copland's opera The Tender Land at the University of Utah and has sung with the University of Utah Chamber Choir. She is currently a member of the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square and continues to perform regularly as a soloist throughout the Salt Lake Valley and beyond.

When she isn't teaching or performing, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband, Todd, their six children, two daughters-in-law, two granddaughters, and one adorable dog.
