
Kim Fairbourn graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music/ liberal arts- vocal/ choral emphasis from Weber State University. She is a nationally certified teacher of music (piano) with the Music Teacher’s National Association. She is an active member of the National Federation of Music Clubs, the Music Teacher’s National Association, the Utah Music Teachers’ Association, and the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). She has served as the President of the Sandy, Utah chapter of the Utah Music Teachers' Association and is currently serving as the Chair of Communications. She is also serving as the Chairman of the Sandy Chapter of the Utah Federation of Music Clubs. and the Treasurer of the Northern Utah Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. She has taught piano and voice since 1994. Her students participate in National Federation of Music Clubs festivals, the AIM (achievement in music) program, NATS auditions and various competitions, performances, and recitals. She has been a licensed Kindermusik (an early childhood music and movement program) teacher, and has directed several church choirs. She has sung with the Salt Lake Vocal Artists under the direction of Dr. Brady Allred, and has toured and performed as a soloist internationally with them. She recently appeared as an alto soloist with the Utah Baroque Ensemble, and is currently working on her Masters degree in vocal performance and pedagogy at the University of Utah, She teaches both piano and voice with a classical approach.
